The DBK9 provides an easy to install, bolt on solution for upgrading your pre-1980 Ford passenger car 9 rear-end to disc brake performance but is designed for cars only. Our kit is unique in that it provides all the brackets and flanges that fit the three most popular sizes of the small bearing 9 rear end. Great for use in numerous racing applications, including Modifieds (IMCA-type, UMP, USMTS, USRA), as well as on Street Rods, Street/Strip, Hot Rods, Drag Racing, Road Racing, Rally Car, and Off-Road. Wilwood’s D154 forged billet aluminum caliper is a direct bolt-on, lightweight, high-strength, extreme duty alternative to the OE cast iron calipers that were used on a wide range of factory disc brake equipped mid-size GM cars and small trucks beginning in 1978. Use of this caliper can still be found on some GM models as late as 2002. The wide spread and affordable availability of D154 calipers and brake pad compounds also made it a popular choice in a number of restricted class competition categories and drum to disc conversions on all types of hot rods and street machines. The D154 GM Metric replacement caliper was designed using computer generated 3D modeling and FEA stress analysis technology and have been configured to mount in the stock location with included OE type slide-pins to position over the rotor. This caliper design features a stress-flow forged billet aluminum body that provides a substantial weight savings over the original cast iron caliper, without any of the rust and corrosion issues that are common to cast iron parts. Stress flow forging realigns the internal grain structure of the metal within the contour of the caliper body to create a caliper that is superior in strength to any cast or machined from block billet caliper design. There simply is no better way to build an aluminum caliper with more strength or less weight. The D154 calipers utilize stainless steel pistons. Stainless pistons are used to resist corrosion and retard heat transfer from the pads into the caliper body. High temperature, square faced bore seals are used to provide controlled piston retraction and reliable performance from the wider sealing face. This combination of components is a proven performer with long service life and a history of reliable performance in any type of driving environment, including extreme sustained high temperature racing applications. The caliper slide pin holes are fitted with dampening rings to minimize noise from vibration. The caliper is also fitted with bleed screws on both ends to facilitate mounting in any left hand or right hand, front leading mount, or rear trailing mount locations. The caliper inlet port is threaded for use with a M10 x 1.5 banjo bolt or a line adapter using crush washers as a seal. The OE rubber lines can be used from any vehicle equipped with a M10 x 1.5 banjo. Smooth engagement with consistent response from a flat-torque curve throughout its entire effective temperature range. Good low to middle temperature wear rates. A F X Body GM Red Drilled & Slotted Disc Brake Conversion Kit with Chrome Booster
A, F and X- Body MBM Front & Rear Drilled and Slotted Disc Brake Conversion Kit with Red Powdercoated Calipers. Wheel kit features 11 drilled and slotted rotors, loaded large red powdercoated GM calipers, caliper brackets, backing plates, stock height spindles w/ nuts, washers, dust caps and seals. Rear Brake kit features emergency brake calipers. Brake lines and banjo bolts included and requires 15 minimum diameter wheels. Master cylinder is a Corvette style and designed for use with disc/disc or disc/drum brakes. The booster is an 8 inch dual diaphragm which offers better stopping than single diaphragm boosters and holds more vacuum than 7 inch boosters. Kit also includes disc/disc proportioning valve. The base kit includes standard chrome master cylinder pictured with booster. Upgraded master cylinders (smooth top or ball-milled) are available. Optional master cylinders are pictured separately. Kit comes with chrome brackets, adjustable connecting rod, proportioning valve bracket and brake lines. Kit is designed to fit. We will be glad to assist you any way we can. All parts are based off the factory originals and fit just like the factory originals. What makes our kits different from the rest is all parts are factory and you have all the parts to complete the job. We give you the correct brake hose required for the existing frame bracket – without them – good luck getting the brake hoses to work. We also give you the correct rotor spindle cover and pads that are carbon metallic no the cheap ones. Our calipers are Standard thread not cheap metric and powder coated black. If 15 years from now one of the parts wear out you can swap with any factory original part or an autoparts store part and it all fits together. The other guys kit is a mash of parts to get the job done but not specific to any car. These parts are reproduction of the 69-72 disc brake set and will accept most 14 stock disc brake wheels. If there is a minor rub on the drum brake wheel it is always the top edge of the caliper bracket that can be lightly filed to get the clearance.
